Abandoned Time, a new recording of chamber music with guitar performed by ICE and featuring Dan, is now available, released by New Focus Recordings. The CD includes pieces by Magnus Lindberg, Dai Fujikura, Mario Davidovsky, Kaija Saariaho, and Du Yun. Lots of great musicians have been in on every aspect of this project. The new performing arts center in Troy, N.Y., EMPAC, will be featuring ICE and Dan in a fascinating piece by Gyorgy Kurtag for thirty players and guitar soloist entitled Grabstein fur Stephan on October 3rd and 4th. The performance is part of a gala event celebrating the arts center's long anticipated opening. The work involves musicians spread throughout the hall, filling out notes in ominously thick, resonant chords.

Flexible Music will be featured in an October 24 concert at the Mid-American Center for New Music Festival at Bowling Green State University, in Ohio. The annual festival draws composers and performs from around the world, and highlights BGSU's long standing as a center for new music in the midwest. FM will also be playing concerts at Syracuse University, and in Philadelphia and Baltimore this fall.
